July 2013:

Following a meeting between Terry Delany and John Douglas, John pledged his and the ICTU’s support for the Justice for Robert Delany Campaign. John Douglas stated “Robert Delany was a member of the Communications Workers’ Union and his family have a long history in the trade union movement and on behalf of the ICTU, I want to condemn in the strongest possible terms the attack on Robert, which has left him in a vegetative state. I would urge all workers to support the campaign and for anybody with information about the attack to contact the Gardaí or the Delany family”.
